June 30th, 2015

Velothon Wales held on Sunday 14th June 2015 was a huge success after some negative press coverage and rumours of discontent beforehand.

All four members of Team Full Gas completed the course although one of them snapped a spoke on the descent of the tumble mountain resulting in hours on the roadside waiting for assistance. Eventually a spare back wheel was provided to enable the fourth member to complete the event and collect his medal. Some tacks were spread across the road near Caerleon which caused a few punctures to others and many competitors (including Team Full Gas) had to stop for 5 minutes or so. Despite this the event had enormous support out on the road by the general public with the route lined with many vocal spectators. Testosterone levels were high on the day as many forgot it was supposed to be a sportive and not a race. As such Team Full Gas felt they had to compete with one member of the team completing the event in 4hrs 23mins and two others in 4hrs 30mins. These times were good enough for 467th, 680th and 681st place out of 8,777 finishers of the 140km event.  Well done to Paul and his team.
