Cambria Consulting were appointed as the Civil and Structural Engineer for Willmott Dixon in the design of Substructure and Civils design packages for the new Hunt’s Grove 420 place Primary School in Gloucester.
The building package was delivered utilising the Scape / Sunesis Standardised design provided through Willmott Dixon and their associated design partners. The school was delivered on behalf of Crest Nicholson as part of a S106 requirement for the larger surrounding residential development.
The foundation design comprised of trench foundation founded in Charmouth mudstone bearing strata, supporting a RC suspended floor slab to provide a working platform for a third party designed Sunesis Steel frame. This foundation design required heave protection to suit the high volume change potential soil and the existing / proposed tree planting in the local vicinity.
This project required S278 works to connect the new access to the existing adopted highway, and a S106 agreement for connecting the drainage into an existing sewer network for foul and water. The surface water drainage has been designed to discharged into a local ordinary watercourse.
