Cambria Consulting are the Civil and Structural Engineers for the works being carried out on the 110-year-old Newport Transporter Bridge in Newport.

The project involves carrying out some much-needed repairs to the bridge to extend its operational life by 25-30 years and ensure that a future generation can enjoy this local landmark. New enhancements to the bridge will include a glass floor, enhanced displays to provide better information to visitors, a sheltered area to allow visitors to stop and reflect at the top of the structure as well as state of the art lighting.

A new Visitor Centre will also be constructed, with the current much smaller Visitor Centre being demolished and rebuilt with improved facilities that will create the opportunity to provide interpretative and educational experiences and generate a revenue with a shop, restaurant/café and rooms that can be hired out for a wide range of activities.
