Many of the development sites we work on slope steeply or undulate and we believe it is possible to provide an engineering solution that allows the project to be built at minimum cost to the Client. To do this we model the entire site in CADS 3D and then undertake a virtual “cut and fill” exercise manipulating the ground levels to deliver optimum gradients for the on-site roads and drainage without the need for the costly import or export of bulk materials.
Some sites are more challenging than others in arriving at the ideally balanced “Cut and Fill” in which case we may propose the introduction of landscaped bunding areas to use up excess fill material or pond areas or underbuild ground floor voids where there is insufficient fill material.
The benefit of avoiding the need to export bulk material becomes even more financially advantageous if classified as “Non Inert” or even “Hazardous” waste following the WAC testing of samples. Some examples of the techniques and expertise we have developed to help minimise the cost of developing badly undulating or steeply sloping sites include:
- 3D Ground Modelling
- Cut and Fill Balance to Avoid Costly Import or Export of Bulk Materials.
- Arisings Re-laid On Site as Bulk Fill.
- Rock Excavation Arisings Crushed to Form Engineering Fill.
