Where a development is of modest size, and it is obvious that the additional trips will not have a significant impact on the local highway network, the Local Authority Transportation Officers can agree that a Transport Statement is sufficient to support of the Planning Application in lieu of a full Transportation Assessment Report. All our Transport Statements are tailored to suit the site specific situation and will typically:
- Describe the location of the site in the context of the transport network that serves it – public transport, cycle routes, etc.
- Consider the traffic generating potential of the existing use of the land as well as that of the proposed and comment on the impact of any additional traffic generated by the development will have on the network.
- Consider the adequacy of the access in terms of its layout, visibility etc.
- Consider the proposed parking provision in the context of the Council’s current parking standards.
- Consider the adequacy of the internal circulation areas for refuse collection/delivery vehicles.
