Our Pierre Grigorian was delighted to help the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Network Rail and Alun Griffiths Contractors on Thursday 24th Sept 2015 in bringing Engineering to primary school aged children.
The event was organised in conjunction with Newport’s Community Engagement Worker, Jane Lewis and was hosted at Tredegar House. The children built a scale model of the Second Severn Crossing cable stayed bridge and got them to test it by walking across. Six different primary schools attended the event and the children were incredibly enthusiastic and clearly enjoyed the hands on experience.
This event is was part of ICE’s support for educating children in “STEM” subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
