The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work has launched a two-year Europe-wide, ‘Healthy Workplaces Manage Stress’ campaign, which is designed to help employers and employees manage and prevent work-related stress and psychosocial risks.
According to a recent poll, 51 per cent of employees find work-related stress to be common in their workplace and four in ten workers believe that stress is not handled well in their organisation.
At Cambria, our staff are of paramount importance and in order to maintain and happy and healthy workplace, earlier this year we all attended a Stress Management And Resilience Training (SMART) Workshop presented by Jonathan Bockelmann-Evans of JBE Health. The session helped us identify personality traits that are more prone to stress and how to apply techniques to reduce stress and anxiety. Jon is an experienced and registered psychotherapist, chartered physiotherapist and healthcare expert, who understands how to help people and organisations from both a psychological and a physiological perspective. The Healthy Workplaces campaign seeks to show how psychosocial risks can be handled in the same systematic way as any other occupational safety and health risk.
The campaign aims to promote the use of simple tools that can help organisations to effectively manage these risks and highlight the positive effects of doing this and include:
• Management Standards for Work Related Stress
• Work Related Stress Indicator Tool
• Management Competency Indicator Tool
• Workwell Tool
• Sickness Absence Tool
