As an accredited Investor in People business it is important to us to talk to the team in the format of an informal appraisal. We are a close knit bunch and talk to each other every day so we like to keep it light. We don’t ask anyone to fill in forms or score themselves for comparison – we don’t want the process to be daunting, we aim to make it as friendly as possible.
We utilise a venue near to the office to undertake the individual discussions so that everyone can relax and talk candidly without being disturbed or overheard. We start by having a general discussion on how they feel they are doing, as well as ongoing development and work out the best ways to build their career in line with Cambria’s objectives.
After the individual appraisals were complete, we came together as group for a team briefing summarising the findings from the two days, after which we headed into Cardiff for post appraisal drinks and food. Flight Club was the venue of choice and it has to be said a splendid evening was had by those that could attend. Even the non-darts types loved it!
The overall outcome from the process was that the mood is highly positive and everyone is excited about the upcoming office refurbishment and plans for the New Year. We look forward to holding the next set of appraisals in Spring 2024.
