Women in Property Wales take on the Christmas Wrap-A-Thon in aid of Llamau

Although she can usually be found keeping us all in line on a daily basis, Cambria’s Trish Michael has taken on a different kind of challenge this week – helping to wrap hundreds of presents in aid of charity Llamau Cymru, as part of their annual festive Wrap-A-Thon.

As a representative of Women in Property Wales, Trish attends and helps to organise a number of events that bring together women working in the property and construction sector. Although they range in scope and scale, every event is created to provide opportunities to expand knowledge, share expertise and inspire change within the sector.

One of the most rewarding of the year however, has been the chance to take part in Llamau’s Christmas Present Wrap-A-Thon, which invites attendees to wrap a variety of gifts that will be shared with the young people, women and children they support in time for Christmas Day.

Llamau is a Wales-based charity that supports over 100,000 young people, women and children who are facing or experiencing homelessness. Its mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women, particularly those most at risk – care leavers, people who have been involved with the criminal justice system, or people who have experienced domestic abuse. Llamau works tirelessly to ensure they receive not only what they need but what they truly deserve.

And as part of their efforts, the charity holds an annual Christmas present wrapping event which this year was held at the Cardiff City Football Club grounds. The day kicked off with coffee and mince pies to fuel everyone for a morning of furious wrapping, where Trish and her fellow members of Women in Property Wales pitched in and got to hear about the incredible and varied work this charity does for those in urgent need.

Trish said on the Wrap-A-Thon: “This has been such a fantastic event to take part in and it’s been wonderful to hear from the wider Llamau team on what supporting them can mean to a person experiencing homelessness. I’d encourage anyone to learn more about the charity and what they do, and we can’t wait to take part in another event like this in the future!”
