Cambria Attends Concrete Society Autumn Lunch 2024

The annual Concrete Society Wales lunch event took place last week, and was attended by several members of the Cambria team – who were thrilled to see a record-breaking £36,000 raised on the day for the Wooden Spoon Charity.

Cambria are long-time supporters of the event, donating raffle prizes of £250 each year, as well as Practice Secretary Trish having been involved previously in the organisation as part of the sub-committee.

The chosen charity, Wooden Spoon supports children with disabilities and other hardships. Its mission is to transform young people’s lives through the power of rugby. It also funds a wide variety of charitable projects across the UK.

An impressive 500 attendees from across the construction industry attended this year’s charitable lunch, which took place at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

The event was hosted by broadcaster and Rugby Union coach, Sean Holley, and featured three greats from the Welsh rugby world as guest speakers – Brynmor Williams MBE, Jonathan Davies OBE, and Rupert Moon.

The raffle and auction events, which both featured generous prizes, managed to raise a combined total in excess of £36,000 for charity.

All in all, it was a wonderful event that brought together industry friends for a great cause. We express our thanks to Concrete Society Wales and all involved in the planning of the lunch.
